Bangor Schools, like the Scarborough School Department, were previously assessed in 2003. In order to keep accurate track of the condition of each of their systems, the buildings, and grounds, Bangor School Department has hired our firm to re-assess their buildings.
With Bangor Schools, however, our firm is reassessing a portion of their buildings each year, over a period of 5 years. This method provides a rotation of new data for the school district, so at the end of the 5 years the rotation of assessments can begin again or the School can choose to wait a few years before their next assessment. This option also works well with a school's budget because the assessment fee isn't billed all at once, but as a percentage of the total over 5 years.

Our firm is also providing facility database updates for the School Department over the next 5 years. During this time we will be continually updating the facility database for the School Department as new projects are completed and issues that were identified during the assessment are corrected. Each year Bangor will be presented with reports that assist with their financial planning and capital improvement process. This service is part of our Database Maintenance service,
in which most of our clients participate in after having
their Facility Condition Assessment completed.
This re-assessment of the school buildings and grounds will result in new cost models for the School to use, as well as updated system renewal dates, replacement costs, and current values. If there are any deficiencies with the buildings, our assessment process will identify them and put a dollar value to fixing the issue so that Bangor School Department has a better estimate for budgeting and capital
