This time is truly an exciting time for those interested in alternative energy and renewable sources. The community of Bucksport, Maine and the schools of RSU 25 recently hired our firm to conduct an Energy Audit of all their facilities.

Members of our team visited each building to walk every inch of the location to complete an inventory of all energy consuming items within. This information was then compiled into our specialty software to calculate energy use, energy savings, and dollar savings.

Bucksport is also extremely interested in taking advantage of the many grants and funding for renewable energy project, so our firm has made recommendations for alternative energy opportunities such as solar technology, wood heat, and more. These options, if explored by the town and schools, will help to significantly cut costs.

Our findings revealed the following:
The schools of RSU 25 consume 1.1 million kilowatt hours (kWh) and 76,000
gallons of fuel annually, costing $462,000 per year.

An expenditure of $263,879 towards suggested energy conservation measures
will save $131,243 per year and will payback in less than 5 years.

There are also 20 suggested energy conservation measures that payback in
less than 1 year.

The town buildings of Bucksport consume 271,332 kilowatt hours (kWh) and
8,903 gallons of fuel annually, costing $72,475 per year.

An expenditure of $22,875 towards suggested energy conservation measures
will save $10,106 per year and will payback in less than 5 years.

There are also 10 suggested energy conservation measures that payback in
less than 2 years.
