Many projects and ideas have been taking place in Houlton, Maine. Currently the schools are in hopes of installing a biomass-wood boiler to heat the Middle/High School.

Initially, our firm did feasibility work with the school community to determine is a wood heating plant would even be probable in that area. Of course, Houlton is in ideal territory to have a wood-fired boiler, so the next step was to begin implementation.

Our firm wrote the application for a Maine Forestry Grant in which RSU 29 was awarded $750,000. The school is now in planning stages for implementation of the wood-fired boiler project. Our guidance and recommendations have been taken into strong consideration through every step of the project and we intend to continue our work in Houlton once the project begins.
