Maine School of Science and Mathematics & Limestone School Department, Maine
Our firm has spent a great deal of time with both of these schools during our Master Planning process. In a course of just over a year, we have collected a vast amount of data, analyzed information, and made several recommendations and forecasts for the communities in Limestone, Maine.
The Long-term Strategic Master Plan for these schools took us through a process which involved assisting with capital renewal, budgeting and facility management.
Overall, the Limestone community was looking for assistance with the contusion of education in their town. Due to the many changes in their community and population over the last few years, the schools' continuation and use in Northern Maine came into question.
With our help, we were able to project trends in population and suggest facility management options that will guide the community through the next stages in their education decisions. We've presented and met with key individuals and members of the community several times to discuss our findings and to decide in which direction to take each step.
The total square footage of the campuses were 200,000 square feet. This information, along with other data collected from the school staff and outside sources, was used to draw conclusions for the future use of the space and buildings in Limestone, Maine.
