There are several projects we are working on with the Scarborough School Department. A large part of our work involves a re-assessment of all their buildings and grounds.

In 2004, Scarborough had their initial Facility Condition Assessment. With over 600,000 square feet, there is a lot of ground to cover. Our firm recommends that a re-assessment be conducted every 5 years. With that time lapsed, we are in the process of conducting the re-assessment and updating their facility information into the facility software database.

This new look at the school buildings and grounds will result in new cost models for the School to use, as well as updated system renewal dates, replacement costs, and current values. If there are any deficiencies with the buildings, our assessment process will identify them and put a dollar value to fixing the issue so that Scarborough School Department has a better estimate for budgeting and capital planning.

Over the next 5 years, we will be continually updating the facility database for the School Department as new projects are completed and issues that were identified during the assessment are corrected. Each year Scarborough will be presented with reports that assist with their financial planning and capital improvement process. This service is part of our Database Maintenance service, in which most of our clients participate in after having their Facility Condition Assessment completed.
