Our firm was chosen by the Shaker School District to conduct a commercial grade energy audit of their four school buildings and administrative offices.

In February 2010, they were presented with a final report detailing our findings of the audit. The process involved visited each of their buildings, a total of almost 222,000 square feet. During the visit, our investigators compiled an inventory of all energy consuming devices and made observations of the building envelopes, and more.

Once the data was collected in the field, the real work began back in the office where the field data was analyzed and used to make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.

Our report concluded:

• The district used over 1.2 million kilowatt hours, costing nearly $200,000, in FY09.
  

• The district consumed more than 66,000 gallons of #2 fuel, costing an additional $200,000 in FY09.
  

• 3 out of 5 buildings met the Energy Star rating for energy efficiency.
  

• Almost 120 energy conservation measures (ECMs) were recommended.
